Equipment

  • Pickleball paddles
  • Pickleballs
  • Pickleball court
  • 3 cones (or similar small objects)

How to run it

Players dink back and forth. The goal is to "knock off" the opponent's cones by hitting offensive dinks that are difficult to defend. Players must lean into the kitchen line while maintaining balance to protect their "baby birds."

Coach Dave’s cues

Make quick, right decisions. Lean in but maintain balance, avoid coming off the ground. Reset the ball if an attack opportunity isn't there, focusing on getting the ball off the cones.

Watch for

Leaning in too far and losing balance. Not making a quick decision to attack or reset.
