Bloomington has more places to play than most people realize: free outdoor courts all over town and three indoor options for winter. If you’re brand new, start with one of the spots below. Come watch a game first if you like; nobody minds.
Not sure where your game is at? Find your level in about 2 minutes.
Good places to start
- RCA Community Park The biggest outdoor spot in town, and where I teach outdoor lessons. First come, first served.
- Bloomington Pickleball Warehouse Eight dedicated indoor courts and players of every level. I teach indoor lessons here too.
- Twin Lakes Recreation Center Weekday indoor sessions for $8 a day, a relaxed place to start playing with other people.

N. Fee Ln. & E. 17th St., Bloomington, IN 47408
Near Briscoe and McNutt in IU's Northwest Neighborhood. Free for IU students and open to the public; bring your own paddle and ball. Open daily, dawn to dusk, weather permitting. Limited nearby parking (check IU parking policies).
-
Hopewell Commons
332 W. University St., Bloomington, IN 47404
Free and open to the public, in the Hopewell redevelopment just off downtown. Heads up: the courts aren't regulation size and the tile surface doesn't play well, so I'd pick another spot for a real game.
-
Eagle Pointe Pickleball Courts
2250 E. Pointe Rd., Bloomington, IN 47401
Open to the public for $24 per court per hour, prepaid when you reserve through Court Reserve; bring your printed confirmation. For walk-up play, pay at the golf shop. Eagle Pointe residents and owners play free, get priority, and always have two courts reserved for them. Questions: Jeff Schroeder, The Golf Club at Eagle Pointe, 812-824-4040 ext. 2.
-
Marci Jane Lewis Park
100 S. Park St., Ellettsville, IN 47429
Free parking. First come, first served from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. or dusk, whichever comes first. No play on days the shelter is rented or used for a town event. Heads up: with just one court, it's not a place I'd plan a game around.
-
Winslow Sports Complex
2120 S. Highland Ave., Bloomington, IN 47401
Pickleball on the tennis courts when they aren't reserved.
