To improve the ability to place dinks accurately cross-court, keeping the opponent off balance and creating angles. Focuses on hitting with as much cross-court angle as possible while keeping the ball low.

- Pickleballs
- Pickleball court
How to run it
Both players stand just behind their respective kitchen lines, positioned for cross-court dinking (e.g., one player on the even side, the other on the odd side, dinking to each other's cross-court kitchen). Alternate between forehand and backhand dinks, aiming to hit the ball with significant cross-court angle, targeting the partner's sideline area within the kitchen. Focus on how low the shot can be kept while still clearing the net.
Coach Dave’s cues
Emphasize accuracy and trajectory control. Work on moving the opponent with angled dinks. Maintain good balance and ready position.
Watch for
Dinking too straight, not achieving enough angle. Hitting the ball too high when going for angle. Over-hitting and sending the ball wide or deep.
